[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyun-joo] Actor Oh Ji-myeong, who appeared in the popular SBS sitcom 'Sunpung Obstetrics and Gynecology,' has declared his support for Heo Kyung-young, the presidential candidate of the National Revolutionary Party.
On the 22nd, Heo's official YouTube channel, 'Heo Kyung-young TV,' released a video of a meeting between Oh Ji-myeong and Heo at 'Haneulgung' in Jangheung-myeon, Yangju-si, Gyeonggi Province, on the 20th. The meeting was arranged at Oh Ji-myeong's request.
Oh Ji-myeong stated, "Our Chairman Heo must become president this time. Only then will this country survive."
He found Heo's pledge of '100 million won emergency COVID-19 livelihood support' to be convincing. Oh said, "Some people say, 'Is it possible to give 100 million won?' But after doing the calculations, it was correct." Heo responded, "When people gather now, my name always comes up. They say, 'We don't trust either party,' 'It's suspicious,' or 'Let's vote for Heo Kyung-young and just get the money.'"
Heo confidently explained his pledge, saying, "I will give 100 million won as emergency COVID-19 support, 1.5 million won monthly, and for those over 65, an additional 700,000 won as a founding allowance, totaling 2.2 million won per month."
When asked how he came to support Heo, Oh replied, "I have known Chairman Heo for a long time. But he hasn't risen, and the vested powers keep pushing him in strange directions. My wife put Heo Kyung-young stickers everywhere. Everything is covered with Heo Kyung-young stickers." He added, "By any means necessary, he must be elected president this time."
Born in 1939, Oh Ji-myeong joined the National Theater Company while a sophomore in the Department of Economics at Sungkyunkwan University and mainly appeared in plays. In 1966, he began his broadcasting career as a specially recruited talent at KBS. After debuting in the 1967 film 'Munamdoknyeo,' he gained great popularity for his comedic acting in sitcoms such as 'Dr. Oh's People' and 'Sunpung Obstetrics and Gynecology.'
