[Asia Economy reporters Ki-min Lee and Young-won Kim] The third TV commercial titled 'Choshim' featuring diary entries from Lee Jae-myung, the Democratic Party presidential candidate, during his days as a GED student, law student, and judicial trainee, was released on the 21st.
The advertisement includes diary excerpts such as "I will open a law practice. Therefore, I will help the weak, those who were weak like me in my childhood," "I want to be a humane person rather than someone with high social status," and "Jae-myung, get a grip." It also features Lee’s statement, "The diary of young Jae-myung was a promise to his future self," followed by his expression of determination: "I have kept it, I am keeping it, and I will keep it until the end."
Lee Won-il, the general director, said, "For today's release of 'Choshim,' we decided to show the candidate as he is without adding advertising techniques. We believe that the unpolished, sincere authenticity will sufficiently convey the comparative advantage of the human Lee Jae-myung."
He added, "The images of the candidate shown are not hastily fabricated for the presidential race but reflect the philosophy he held as seen in his old diaries, such as 'helping the weak' and 'being a humane person rather than someone with high social status.' We chose this to emphasize that he is not a hastily made candidate."
Kim Young-hee, head of the campaign’s public relations and communication headquarters, said, "Young Jae-myung chose the path of a lawyer to stand on the side of the weak and chose the path of humanity rather than money and power. We expect that his original intention will be fully conveyed to voters," adding, "This provides an opportunity for voters who have not yet decided on a candidate in the middle to confirm his sincerity."
The campaign announced that 'Choshim,' released on this day, will be the final installment of the Lee Jae-myung rewatch series, and that they are preparing a follow-up work showcasing his capabilities as a competent economic president.
Additionally, as of 9:30 a.m. on the 21st, the 'Letter' episode (released on the 15th) and the 'Sincerity' episode (released on the 18th) recorded 238,000 and 82,000 views respectively on the official YouTube channel 'Lee Jae-myung TV.'
The campaign noted that compared to the People Power Party candidate Yoon Seok-youl’s TV ads 'Child' and 'People,' released on the 15th, which recorded 80,000 and 100,000 views respectively on the YouTube channels 'Yoon Seok-youl TV' and 'Oreun Sori,' considering release timing, view counts, and number of channels, Lee’s ads received more attention.
