The foundation has been promoting the 'Seoul 50+ Internship' project since 2019 to provide opportunities for the expertise and experience of the 50+ generation to be socially utilized and to connect talented individuals to social economy, small and medium enterprises, small business owners, and regional industry sectors facing manpower shortages.
This year, a total of 300 participants will be selected across 7 projects. They will work as full-time or part-time interns in fields such as social economy, small and medium enterprises, and green and digital sectors.
The Seoul 50+ New Deal Internship is recruiting a total of 90 people in small and medium enterprises and green and digital sectors. It offers full-time internship opportunities at companies, institutions, and organizations with hiring demand for jobs suitable for the 50+ generation. The principle is full-time work, 8 hours a day, 5 days a week, with an hourly wage of 10,770 KRW. The Seoul 50+ Internship, operated on a part-time basis, recruits a total of 210 people in social economy, public, and community-based areas. The Seoul 50+ Internship targets Seoul citizens aged 45 to 67, and the activity period for each project is up to 6 months. Selected participants will receive various adaptation and competency training such as 'working with younger generations,' 'career planning for the second act of life,' and 'education for workplace adaptation,' before being assigned to each company and institution to carry out activities.
Nam Kyung-ah, Head of the Job Project Headquarters, said, “The Seoul 50+ Internship is an opportunity where companies in need of professionals and the 50+ generation who want to design a vibrant and meaningful second half of life can grow together,” adding, “I hope it will also serve as a chance to spread positive experiences and social awareness about intergenerational collaboration.”
