Spring Season Heating System Established
15% Reduction in Available Rooms... Enhanced Quarantine System Implemented
[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Kim] The Seoul Shilla Hotel announced on the 17th that its outdoor swimming pool 'Urban Island' will resume operations on the 12th of next month. In line with this reopening, Urban Island has added a heating system to maintain body temperature during the spring season and has further strengthened its quarantine measures.
Urban Island is a signature facility of the Seoul Shilla Hotel, operated as a heated pool at 32-34°C, attracting popularity for hotel vacations from early spring to late autumn. With warm water temperature and heated sunbeds, guests can enjoy outdoor swimming even during the early spring cold spells.
Equipped with a near-infrared heating system, the popular heating zone for spring visitors has been expanded from 10 seats to 24 seats. Unlike last year when additional fees were charged, this year it will be fully open free of charge. The near-infrared heating zone will operate until early May and seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Meanwhile, the Seoul Shilla Hotel plans to operate Urban Island based on 'thorough quarantine' measures as the COVID-19 situation continues.
The number of rooms allowed entry to Urban Island has been reduced by about 15%, from 130 rooms to 110 rooms. The 'Rooftop Garden,' located on the top floor of Urban Island where guests can enjoy the sunset over Namsan, will also be fully open free of charge. The hotel expects that fewer guests than usual will be able to use a larger space, ensuring sufficient distance between visitors.
Additionally, all equipment frequently touched by guests, such as door handles, life jackets, and locker keys, will be disinfected. After Urban Island closes each day, the entire space including changing rooms, restrooms, and shower booths will be sanitized. All guests are required to wear masks at all times except when entering the pool.
To coincide with the reopening of Urban Island, the Seoul Shilla Hotel is launching the 'Urban Island Package,' which includes access to a room and the outdoor swimming pool. This package consists of a one-night stay in a deluxe room, all-day access to Urban Island (for two people), and access to the fitness center and indoor swimming pool (for two people). It is available from March 12 to April 30.
