[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Hyewon] Jakdangmoi, the operator of 'Jamface,' the first beauty video curation platform in Korea, announced on the 16th that it secured 4.5 billion KRW in bridge investment from Hi Investment Partners and Daesung Startup Investment last month. Accordingly, Jakdangmoi, which launched the Jamface service in mid-June 2019, has surpassed a total investment amount of 11 billion KRW.
Jamface is the only video-centered beauty platform in Korea and has rapidly grown to exceed 1.8 million cumulative subscribers as of 2 years and 8 months since its launch. In particular, about 94% of the total users are women from the MZ generation, firmly establishing Jamface as an essential beauty app for the MZ generation.
Jamface has continuously introduced new and innovative features and services such as 'Time Jump' and 'Face Matching' using AI (Artificial Intelligence) technology, 'PerColor Matching,' a personal color diagnosis service based on AR (Augmented Reality) technology, and 'JamFeed,' a beauty community among users. Through these, it has captured the progressive sensibilities and tastes of MZ generation women who obtain various information from mobile videos while embracing change and challenges.
The Time Jump service, which allows users to instantly move to the desired section within beauty videos using AI technology, is evaluated as a revolutionary improvement to the inconvenience experienced by users who enjoy beauty videos. Especially, the YouTuber review service, which collects review videos of the same product by YouTubers sorted by color options, has received great response from the MZ generation. The personal color free diagnosis service, Personal Color Matching, launched in mid-September last year using AR virtual makeup technology, surpassed 1 million cumulative users within four months. Additionally, by strengthening the beauty community and user review services, Jamface is rapidly growing into a total beauty platform where all beauty-related information can be obtained at once.
Through this investment, Jamface plans to enhance its functions and services to grow as Korea’s representative total beauty platform while strengthening user marketing to focus on gaining widespread recognition.
