Gyeongbuk Province Wins Award for Flood Control Projects Three Years in a Row
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yeo Jong-gu] Sangju City in Gyeongbuk has been selected as an excellent institution in the 'National River Maintenance Status Evaluation' targeting 30 cities and counties, and will receive a budget of 100 million won.
This evaluation comprehensively assessed the status of national river maintenance, including safety management, maintenance, disaster response, illegal occupation of rivers, and budget execution from the perspective of national river maintenance.
In particular, Sangju City received excellent evaluations for hiring river maintenance workers for facility management and budget execution of the Smart Flood Management System project while maintaining 30 km of one national river (Nakdong River).
Mayor Kang Young-seok of Sangju said, "We will strive to secure the safety of citizens from disasters through continuous river maintenance and provide a pleasant river environment by expanding waterfront spaces."
