[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] Ulsan Metropolitan Office of Education and LG CNS signed a business agreement on the 8th to promote an ‘AI-based English learning program.’
The event was attended by Yoon Mi-jung, Executive Director of LG CNS, and Noh Ok-hee, Superintendent of Ulsan Metropolitan Office of Education, among others.
The main purpose of the agreement is to create an AI-based foreign language learning environment in educational settings and to activate the use of edutech to establish a foundation for future education in Ulsan.
According to the agreement, LG CNS will provide the Ulsan Office of Education with the English learning service production platform ‘Speaking Class’ free of charge until 2027, and will offer the AI-based English conversation learning service ‘AI Tutor Mission English’ free of charge until the end of February next year.
Starting in March, the Ulsan Office of Education will distribute the AI-based English learning program free of charge to students and teachers at 122 middle and high schools within the jurisdiction.
An official from the city’s Office of Education said, “Through this business agreement, we hope to take the lead in introducing AI tutors into public education settings and to pioneer future English education policies by integrating Ulsan-style English education content with LG CNS’s edutech technology.”
The official added, “We expect the AI-based English learning service to become an English education service that allows students to systematically practice personalized conversation in an EFL (English as a Foreign Language) environment, enabling anyone to use the service without burden and thereby reducing educational disparities.”
