[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunju Lee] The People Power Party announced that it will participate in the presidential candidate TV debate scheduled for the 11th.
Seong Il-jong, the head of the People Power Party's TV debate negotiation team, stated on the 6th, "Candidate Yoon Seok-yeol has adjusted his schedule and decided to participate in the debate on the 11th."
Seong explained, "During the practical negotiation process, Candidate Ahn Cheol-soo of the People’s Party inquired whether the debate could be postponed by a day or two due to the Gwanhun debate scheduled for the 8th. In response, the People Power Party accepted the 10th. Later, during schedule coordination with other parties, the opinion that the 11th would be better was expressed, so Candidate Yoon adjusted his schedule and decided to participate in the debate on the 11th."
He added, "We hope that with the participation of four major general programming channels and news channels on the 11th, a good opportunity for the public’s judgment will be provided."
The four-party presidential candidate TV debate originally scheduled for the 8th was effectively canceled during the practical negotiation process after the People Power Party raised concerns about the bias of the debate organizers. If the other three parties agree to hold the debate on the 11th, it will be the second four-party presidential debate since the 3rd.
