On the 4th (Korean time), the PGA Tour AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am (total prize money $8.7 million) opened at the battleground Pebble Beach Golf Links (par 72, 6,972 yards), hole 7 (par 3) in Pebble Beach, California, USA. Pebble Beach is a world-renowned course with numerous epithets such as "a resort made by God" and "golfers' bucket list." Located on the Monterey Peninsula near San Francisco, it first impresses visitors with the breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean.
Samuel Morse, grandson of S. Morse, the inventor of Morse code, was captivated by its beauty and teamed up with William Crocker to create the golf course. Jack Neville, an amateur champion at the time, was responsible for the design, and it opened in February 1919. It is a genuine beach course where you can feel the Pacific sea breeze on your entire body at most holes. Even after passing hole 9 (par 3), you do not encounter the clubhouse, making it unique as a "one-way" course that requires completing all 18 holes.
