Applications accepted until February 28... Focus on developing 'Silsa Gusi' policy
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Yoon Jamin] The Korea Island Promotion Agency (Director Oh Dongho), the control tower for domestic island policy, announced on the 28th that it will publicly recruit new employees to actively produce results in its second year since establishment.
This recruitment focuses on significantly increasing the number of research personnel to develop a ‘practical policy’ that addresses the real issues faced by island residents.
The number of recruits is 23 in total, including 16 research personnel, which includes 5 key department heads, and 7 administrative staff.
The Korea Island Promotion Agency plans to fill all vacancies necessary for agency operations by including all ranks in the recruitment plan, from administrative staff levels 1-4 to senior research fellows and researchers, including directors, team leaders, and team members (senior and junior).
Once recruitment is completed, the staff will increase from the current 12 (9 administrative staff and 2 research staff, including the director) to 35 (16 administrative staff and 18 research staff).
Applications can be submitted for 15 days until the 11th of next month through the Korea Island Promotion Agency’s online recruitment site. Final candidates will be selected through document screening (1st round), thesis presentation and major interview (2nd round), and interview examination (3rd round).
The recruitment process will be conducted through a three-stage procedure focusing on qualifications, abilities, and personality to hire talent necessary for job performance.
Through this, the agency aims to fulfill the social responsibilities required for recruitment in public institutions while securing outstanding talent to be deployed in the agency’s major projects.
Oh Dongho, Director of the Korea Island Promotion Agency, said, “The Korea Island Promotion Agency is a space loved by island enthusiasts and island residents, but primarily it is a dream space for employees,” adding, “We will play a strong supporter role for employees so that all members with excellent capabilities can have a workplace where they can dream.”
He continued, “We will focus on executing five core tasks to realize the vision of ‘Islands connecting the future, islands going global,’” and added, “We will revive the era of islands and concentrate all administrative power so that the Korea Island Promotion Agency can serve as a ‘lighthouse opening the great voyage era of islands.’”
