[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Kim] The hotel industry is rolling out unique packages in anticipation of Valentine's Day following the Lunar New Year holiday. They are capturing demand through collaborations with famous fashion brands, promotions incorporating diverse experiences, and prize events.
According to the hotel industry on the 1st, JW Marriott Hotel Seoul is introducing a package in collaboration with the famous brand 'Manolo Blahnik,' known for the shoes Carrie, the protagonist of 'Sex and the City,' received as a proposal gift from her boyfriend Big. The 'Be My Valentine at JW' package, available from the 11th to the 14th of this month, offers a choice between the Executive Deluxe or Griffin Suite rooms and includes Manolo Blahnik shoe-shaped chocolates made by the hotel pastry team and a 10% discount voucher for Manolo Blahnik on the 4th floor of Shinsegae Department Store Gangnam branch.
The 'Romantic Holiday at JW' package is a timed package available for 5 hours. It includes a special gift of Manolo Blahnik shoes from the 'Hangisi' line. Customers can choose the color and size according to their preference. Guests can enjoy one of four in-room dining menus featuring sirloin steak from 'The Margo Grill' along with Mo?t & Chandon Imperial Ros? Champagne.
Four Seasons Hotel Seoul targets customers celebrating honeymoons and wedding anniversaries with the 'Bubble Getaway.' It includes a one-night stay in the Ambassador Suite, a bottle of Dom P?rignon served via room service, strawberry amenities topped with chocolate, a bathtub decorated with flower petals and LED candles, and a mirror lighting service that writes congratulatory messages for various anniversaries and weddings on the glass window. Guests can also access the Executive Club Lounge for two.
InterContinental Seoul COEX is collaborating with Swarovski to offer the 'Sparkling Love Diary Package.' Guests staying from the 11th to the 14th will receive an additional cake and bouquet for couples. The package includes a one-night stay in a Classic Room, one Swarovski round necklace, a bottle of ros? wine, and rental of an Instax camera to capture memories. Breakfast buffet for two at the brasserie is also included.
Banyan Tree Club & Spa Seoul presents the 'Valentine's Day Special' for one day on the 14th. The hotel's first-floor all-day dining restaurant, Granum Dining Lounge, has planned a dinner course for couples. The menu starts with amuse-bouche and appetizers such as bluefin tuna and avocado, followed by a main course of prime beef sirloin and potato mille-feuille, including a welcome glass of champagne. Desserts include chocolate torte and rosemary ice cream. Beverages can be chosen between coffee and tea. Festa by Mingu offers a course featuring Korean beef sirloin carpaccio with truffle, grilled abalone, seafood lasagna, grilled langoustine with bisque risotto, and other dishes that pair well with wine.
The Mayfield Hotel Seoul's 'Suite Romantic Moment' package includes a one-night stay, one bottle of wine, room service with assorted cheeses, cold cuts, and fruit, a slice of strawberry tart cake from the bakery boutique Delice, and a gift of 'Praline & Truffle,' a signature product from the Swiss handmade chocolate brand L?derach. This package runs from the 11th to the 14th. The 'The Finest Wine & Dine' package includes a one-night stay, a bottle of 'Tedeschi Marne 180 Amarone della Valpolicella 2016,' recognized as one of the top 100 wines by the American wine magazine 'Wine Spectator,' and a special dinner course at the Italian restaurant La Festa. This package is available from the 11th to the 13th.
Grand Hyatt Seoul has launched the 'Romantic Valentine Package.' It offers a river view room with floor-to-ceiling windows to enjoy Seoul's sunrise and sunset. Upon check-in, guests receive a gift set of Sisology's Ocean Drive body cleanser and hand cream in celebration of Valentine's Day. Reservations open on the 7th, and stays are available from the 10th to the 20th.
Rolling Hills Hotel in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi Province, offers the 'Be My Valentine Package,' where guests can choose between 'Option 1,' which includes cake, white sparkling wine, and an Alessi wine opener, or 'Option 2,' which offers a dinner course at the American dining restaurant 'The Kitchen.' Early reservations receive a rental of one Polaroid camera and 10 films. The package also includes a one-night stay in a standard room, breakfast buffet, and access to the indoor swimming pool with garden views. It is available from the 11th to the 14th.
Haevichi Hotel & Resort Jeju presents the 'Be My Valentine Package,' allowing guests to choose between 'Option 1,' which includes a Valentine's Day cake, ros? sparkling wine, a Bar99 couple cocktail set, and an Alessi wine opener, or 'Option 2,' which offers a dinner course at the French fine dining restaurant Millieu. A rental of one Polaroid camera and one pack of film (20 sheets) is also provided. The package includes a one-night stay, breakfast or brunch buffet, and access to indoor and outdoor swimming pools with ocean views. It is available from February 11th to 14th and March 11th to 14th.
Grand Hyatt Jeju also offers Valentine's Day room packages, F&B outlets, and spa promotions. The 'My Dream Valentine Package' includes a one-night stay and a champagne dinner set worth approximately 250,000 KRW served via room service. Guests can enjoy their meal at their preferred time in the room. The champagne dinner set consists of one bottle of Mo?t & Chandon champagne, salmon steak, spaghetti Bolognese, and Caesar salad with shrimp. It also includes flower arrangements, strawberry cake, and chocolate welcome amenities. This package is available from the 11th to the 15th.
Hotels are also preparing special cakes for Valentine's Day. The Shilla Seoul Hotel is releasing a limited edition cake called 'Touch of Rose,' shaped like pink rose petals. This signature cake, presented annually for Valentine's Day, has gained popularity as the 'cake for lovers' due to its appearance resembling pink rose petals resting on the cake. It features an Earl Grey tea sponge with rose and lychee-flavored fresh cream, creating the impression of fresh roses. It is available for purchase at the Shilla Seoul Hotel Bakery Pastry Boutique until the 14th of next month.
Lotte Hotel is also introducing the 'Love Bubble Cake,' a pink version of their steady seller 'Bubble Cake,' which resembles white foam. It offers the rich sweetness of French Valrhona Ivoire white chocolate mousse. The 'Heart Tree Sugar Cake' features a tall heart-shaped tree decoration on top of the cake made from Ivoire white chocolate, combining white and pink colors to create a romantic atmosphere. These cakes will be sold in limited quantities from the 10th to the 14th at Lotte Hotel Seoul and World Delica Hans. At Lotte Hotel Jeju Delica Hans, only the Love Bubble Cake will be available during the same period.
