Kim Si-woo (27) shot 8 under par in one day. On the 28th (Korean time), at the North Course of Torrey Pines Golf Course in San Diego, California, USA (par 72, 7,258 yards), during the second day of the PGA Tour Farmers Insurance Open (total prize money $8.4 million), he surged to a tie for 6th place (9 under par, 135 strokes). World No. 1 Jon Rahm (Spain) is tied for the lead (13 under par, 131 strokes). Considering the NFL schedule, the tournament starts on Wednesday local time and ends on Saturday.

Kim Si-woo collected 1 eagle and 7 birdies (1 bogey). He started well with a birdie on the first hole (par 4), followed by consecutive birdies on holes 4 and 5, and a three-birdie streak from holes 9 to 11. He made a birdie on the 13th hole (par 4), a bogey on the 16th hole (par 4), but recovered with an eagle on the 17th hole (par 5). Above all, his average of 1.42 putts per hole showcased his excellent putting. After completing rounds 1 and 2 on the South Course (par 72, 7,765 yards), rounds 3 and 4 will continue again on the South Course.

Rahm also scored 7 under par with 8 birdies and 1 bogey on the relatively easier North Course. Torrey Pines is especially a "promised land" where he earned his first PGA Tour victory in 2017. He has been particularly strong at Torrey Pines with a tie for 5th place in 2019, runner-up in 2020, and a tie for 7th last year. In September last year, at the same course, he set a new milestone as the first Spanish US Open champion. On this day, his green hit rate of 94.44% and "pinpoint iron shots" were especially effective.

Justin Thomas is tied for the lead, and Cameron Tringale follows closely in 4th place, one stroke behind (12 under par, 132 strokes). Billy Horschel, who led with 9 under par the previous day, struggled on the South Course with 5 birdies, 4 bogeys, and 1 double bogey, finishing tied for 12th place (8 under par, 136 strokes). "Number 4" Dustin Johnson is tied for 17th place (7 under par, 137 strokes) with 3 under par on the South Course, and defending champion Patrick Reed (both USA) is tied for 23rd place (6 under par, 138 strokes).

From Korea, Im Sung-jae (24) shot 6 under par on the South Course and secured a tie for 12th place. Noh Seung-yul (32) is tied for 62nd place (3 under par, 141 strokes). "Hulk" Bryson DeChambeau and "rival" Brooks Koepka struggled on the South Course with even par and 2 over par respectively, resulting in a cut. Hudson Swafford (USA), winner of the American Express Championship that ended on the 24th, also stopped his "back-to-back win run" at tied 120th place (1 over par, 145 strokes).
