[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Hyun-joo] In response to the opposition party's suspicion that some of Kim Gun-hee, spouse of Yoon Seok-yeol, the People Power Party's presidential candidate, has missing immigration records, the People Power Party revealed on the 26th that the records exist under her former name before her name change.

Lee Yang-su, chief spokesperson of the campaign headquarters, criticized, "Democratic Party lawmaker Ahn Min-seok, who spread false information about Choi Soon-sil's hidden assets worth 300 trillion won and is the mastermind behind the fraudulent lies of Yoon Ji-oh, who is red-listed by Interpol, has started another 'say it or not' style false exposure." Some in the opposition party, including Ahn, have claimed that Kim's immigration records do not exist.

Lee said in a statement, "The period of Kim Gun-hee's trip to the Czech Republic was July 2004, and the immigration records should be checked under her former name before the name change, 'Kim Myung-shin,'" adding, "We are disclosing the immigration inquiry records checked under the former name 'Kim Myung-shin.'"

The inquiry period of the records disclosed by the People Power Party is from January 1, 2001, to December 31, 2006, showing that a Korean national woman named "Kim Myung-shin" departed on July 8, 2004, and returned on July 18, 2004. This period corresponds to the time Kim reportedly traveled to the Czech Republic.

Lee added, "Isn't it shameful to make false exposures without even confirming such basic facts? Those who spread false suspicions should apologize and take down all related articles and videos." He continued, "No matter how much they insist that national databases were manipulated or that someone is obsessed with shamanistic beliefs, the truth will eventually come out. As candidate Lee Jae-myung said, only pigs can see pigs through pig's eyes."

Park Beom-gye, Minister of Justice, also explained at the National Assembly's Legislation and Judiciary Committee held that day, "The related immigration records have not been deleted and remain intact in the Ministry of Justice," adding that the omission occurred because the search was not conducted under the name 'Kim Myung-shin' during the immigration record inquiry process.
