"Kim Geon-hee Admits Political Intent Behind Investigation Against Me"
[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Juhee] Former Minister of Justice Cho Kuk expressed displeasure, calling the remark "unbelievable," directed at Kim Gunhee, spouse of People Power Party presidential candidate Yoon Seok-yeol, who said about his daughter, "She got the wrong parents."
On the 25th, KBS released additional parts of a recorded phone conversation between Kim and a reporter from Seoul Voice, where Kim shared her personal views on the 'Cho Kuk incident.'
In a post on Facebook that day, former Minister Cho criticized Kim's remarks, including "If Cho Kuk had stepped down with dignity, his daughter would have been fine," "What fault does she (Cho's daughter) have? She got the wrong parents," and "My husband (candidate Yoon) almost died after being betrayed while trying to save this regime."
He argued that Kim's comments "imply that if Cho Kuk had not served as minister and stepped down, the family investigation would not have happened, thereby admitting the political intent behind the investigation." He added, "They divided Roh Moo-hyun and Moon Jae-in, divided Cho Kuk, Yoo Si-min, and Kim Eo-jun, and now they are sowing discord between parents and daughter," criticizing, "Someone who claims to have no interest in politics is truly cunning."
He further stated, "Are the investigations conducted by Yoon Seok-yeol's prosecution, such as the Ulsan case, nuclear power plant case, and the investigation related to Kim Hak-ui's travel ban, all investigations to save the Moon Jae-in administration? This is 'Ijangpaecheon (以掌蔽天, covering the sky with one's palm).'"

According to the transcript released by KBS, Kim said regarding the Cho Kuk incident, "Objectively, I think Minister Cho really did not speak well. He could have just stepped down with a clear conscience, and his daughter would have been fine," adding, "I feel upset seeing his daughter suffer like that."
She continued, "What fault does she (Cho's daughter) have? She got the wrong parents. At first, I thought she had good parents, but she got the wrong ones. What kind of thing is that to do to children?"
Kim also spoke about the investigation into former Minister Cho during candidate Yoon's tenure as Prosecutor General, saying, "My husband almost died. He was betrayed while trying to save this regime, and that's how it ended up like this," adding, "Ordinary people don't know that, so stories like 'Yoon Seok-yeol completely destroyed and ransacked the family' come out. That's not true. In this world, how can you ransack someone else's family like that?"
