Yeosu-type Public Delivery App, 'SsingSsing Yeosu Meokkebi' Business Agreement

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seon-sik] The public delivery app operated by Yeosu City, Jeollanam-do, is newly launched as ‘Ssingssing Yeosu Meokkebi’.

According to the city, on the 24th, Yeosu City, the new operator Meokkebi Co., Ltd., and the Yeosu Small Business Association signed a business agreement, promising a new start to support local small business owners.

‘Ssingssing Yeosu Meokkebi’ reduces the commission fee burden on small business owners by lowering the order commission rate to 1.5%, down from the previous 1.9%.

The system was also designed with user convenience in mind, making it almost as easy to use as private delivery apps.

In addition, payment methods have been expanded to include not only local gift certificates but also Naver Pay and Kakao Pay, allowing both consumers and affiliated stores to use various options.

The city announced plans to strengthen recruitment activities with the operator and the Small Business Association to register more affiliated stores in addition to the existing ‘Ssingssing Yeosu’ stores.

Furthermore, by providing a ‘store owner exclusive app,’ orders can be received on the store owner’s smartphone, and integration with about 60 delivery agencies has reduced inconvenience, urging many small business owners to register.

At the agreement ceremony, Yeosu Mayor Kwon Oh-bong, Meokkebi CEO Kim Do-hyung, and Yeosu Small Business Association Chairman Park Ki-chang attended and pledged cooperation to protect small business owners and revitalize the local economy.

They also promised special discounts during ‘Yeosu Citizens’ Day’ and ‘local festivals’ as a differentiated strategy unique to ‘Ssingssing Yeosu Meokkebi.’

The city plans to open the app in February, minimizing the preparation period for system maintenance, store recruitment, and citizen promotion to avoid inconvenience to existing users.

There will also be a 5,000 KRW discount event for the first 1,000 users each month.

Mayor Kwon Oh-bong of Yeosu said, “We have changed the operator to activate the Yeosu-type public delivery app to protect local small business owners. Since benefits have increased and convenience has greatly improved for both affiliated stores and consumers, I ask all citizens to take an interest and use it.” He added, “‘Ssingssing Yeosu Meokkebi’ is expected to breathe new life into the local economy, which has been stagnant due to COVID-19.”
