Rent Reduction Offered... Sangju-si, Gyeongbuk to Lower Rental Fees for Owned Facilities Again This Year

Rent Reduction from January to June, Extension of Deadline if Unused

Rent Reduction Offered... Sangju-si, Gyeongbuk to Lower Rental Fees for Owned Facilities Again This Year Sangju City Hall, Gyeongbuk.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Seryeong] Sangju City, Gyeongbuk, will temporarily reduce the rent for city-owned facilities until June this year to support small business owners struggling due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.

To minimize COVID-19 damage and stabilize the local economy, the city will lower rents or extend the lease period by the amount of time the facilities were unused for citizens using city-owned public property.

So far, the city has reduced rents by approximately 170 million KRW for 60 locations through public property rent reductions.

The support targets for usage and lease fees include restaurants, stores, cafes, etc., operating by leasing city-owned public property, and the recipients will be finalized after reviewing damage application forms and proof of damage.

Mayor Kang Young-seok said, “I hope the rent reduction can be a source of hope for local small business owners,” and added, “We will prepare various support policies to revitalize the local economy.”
