Incheon TP Conducts Demand Survey for 'Incheon-style Specialized Robots' Demonstration Support... Up to 200 Million KRW for Logistics Robots

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyesook] Incheon Technopark (Incheon TP) announced on the 25th that it will conduct a demand survey for the 'Incheon-type Specialized Robot Demonstration Support Project' in collaboration with Incheon City.

This project aims to discover convergence models of Incheon-type specialized robots in four fields: logistics, non-face-to-face services, support for socially vulnerable groups, and entertainment, and to assist in their commercialization.

Based on this demand survey, Incheon TP plans to support commercialization such as technology development, performance improvement, and demonstration of robot products suitable for the needs of various demand sources including robot manufacturers and companies/institutions intending to introduce robots.

The focused development field, 'logistics robots,' will be supported up to 200 million KRW, and 'non-face-to-face service robots,' whose market size has expanded due to COVID-19, will be supported up to 150 million KRW.

Additionally, 'robots supporting socially vulnerable groups,' used for medical treatment, rehabilitation, and care services for the elderly and disabled, will be supported up to 120 million KRW, and 'entertainment robots' for performances and concerts will be supported up to 50 million KRW.

An Incheon TP official stated, "Based on the demand survey, we plan to begin full-scale company support procedures from March," and added, "We hope for active participation from robot companies and demand institutions across various fields."

Meanwhile, last year, through this project, Incheon TP helped develop a total of five robots, including a towing-type logistics robot for medical waste disposal, an unmanned transfer robot applying a customized robot arm for small and medium-sized enterprises, an indoor/outdoor disinfection and surveillance driving robot, and an information guidance service robot at the subway station (Incheon National University Station).
