Guro-gu Transforms Nighttime Landmark to Brighten Dark Streets and Showcase Various Media Videos... Selected High Foot Traffic Area ... Digital Henge and Media Pole Installed, Public Square Renovated
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Guro-gu (Mayor Lee Seong) has installed LED symbolic sculptures along the streets of Guro Digital Complex.
Guro-gu announced on the 25th, "We have promoted the 'Vibrant and Beautiful Street Creation Project' in Guro Digital Complex," adding, "As part of this, we installed LED symbolic sculptures that illuminate the dark night streets and allow viewers to enjoy various media videos."
The 'Vibrant and Beautiful Street Creation Project' aims to improve the working environment, enhance the image of the industrial complex, and boost the pride of office workers.
Through this project, Guro-gu established a specialized street featuring the story of Guro by installing Digital Henge and Media Poles mainly on streets with heavy foot traffic.
At the open space of 43 Digital-ro 34-gil (Kolon Science Valley Phase 1), four Digital Henges were installed to broadcast media art and promotional videos of the district.
The Guro videos consist of three parts: "The Door to the Future," depicting Guro's development from its beginning toward the future; "Digital Guro," symbolizing Guro's image using digital elements; and "Guro Travel in the City," introducing Guro's landmarks.
Additionally, the old pavement of the open space was repaved and renovated into a plaza for meetings and communication for office workers and residents near Guro Digital Complex.
Along Digital-ro 34-gil (200m), eleven Media Poles were installed. Their colors change according to fine dust concentration, and they also provide weather information such as temperature, humidity, and other meteorological data.
Videos on the Digital Henge and Media Poles are screened daily from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
To ensure smooth progress of the project, Guro-gu signed an agreement with the Korea Industrial Complex Corporation and plans to continuously maintain and manage the sculptures through ongoing consultations.
A Guro-gu official stated, "We expect that through this Vibrant and Beautiful Street Creation Project, Guro Digital Complex will be reborn as a nighttime attraction embodying the image of advanced industry."
