Park Gisu, Democratic Party Presidential Political Special Advisor and Gwangju Joint Headquarters Chief, Successfully Concludes 'Book Concert'

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] The 'book concert' of Park Kisoo, co-head of the Gwangju Joint Headquarters of the Political Special Advisory Group directly under Lee Jae-myung, the Democratic Party candidate, who is expected to run for the mayor of Nam-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City in the nationwide local elections this June, was successfully held on the 23rd at the Peak Music Hall in the Gwangju Music Industry Promotion Center.

The book concert was held in compliance with COVID-19 prevention guidelines and featured a book signing event, congratulatory video screenings, and a talk concert.

In particular, the talk concert was a meaningful time where Seo Jeongseong, director of Aian Gwa, Dr. Song Eunmi from the Regional Culture Research Institute, and reader Choi Jeongmi appeared to discuss the author's life and philosophy.

Additionally, various figures from different fields, including former Blue House Senior Secretary for Political Affairs Kang Ki-jung, Song Gap-seok, chairman of the Democratic Party Gwangju City Party Committee, Kim Young-bae, senior member of the Democratic Party, Yeom Tae-young, mayor of Suwon, and Kim Ui-gyeom, member of the Open Democratic Party, sent congratulatory messages via video.

Former Senior Secretary Kang Ki-jung encouraged through the video, “Having led Gwangju Traffic Broadcasting, I hope that the path ahead for Head Park Kisoo, who is now preparing for a new challenge in life, will come warmly with the new spring. As the representative of the Ahn Byung-ha Police Commissioner Memorial Project Association, he has always taken the lead in upright work where it is needed. I hope he will become a reliable partner on the path to a greater Gwangju.”

Song Gap-seok, chairman of the Democratic Party Gwangju City Party Committee, stated, “A true righteous person is one who recognizes the righteous. I believe Head Park Kisoo is a precious righteous person. I congratulate and support this book concert.”

Head Park’s book, The Giant Within Me, contains stories of 30 righteous people who played shadow-like roles, silently supporting the heroes who received public acclaim.

Seo Jeongseong, director of Aian Gwa, said at the talk concert, “Although Head Park Kisoo’s book contains stories of hidden heroes, I hope he becomes a hero for the region. I will actively support him on the path forward.”

Head Park said, “It is not an autobiography, but through the stories of hidden heroes, I wanted to widely share their stories. I will become a person who serves the local community so that their will and noble intentions can be continued.”

Meanwhile, Park, who currently serves as co-representative of the Ahn Byung-ha Memorial Project Association, has served as president of TBN Traffic Broadcasting and chairman of the Gwangju Nam-gu Volunteer Center, and is being mentioned as a candidate for mayor of Nam-gu, Gwangju in the 8th nationwide local elections this June.
