[Asia Economy Reporter Park Sun-mi]On the 24th, Korea Development Bank (KDB) selected Mindeulle Noodle House and Joseph Clinic as the 51st beneficiaries of the 'KDB Warm Companionship' sponsorship program. These organizations practice warm sharing by providing free meals and free medical care to marginalized groups such as the homeless. A total sponsorship fund of 40 million KRW, 20 million KRW each, was delivered.
Mindeulle Noodle House is a free meal service located in Dong-gu, Incheon, offering meals such as lunch boxes, warm fish cakes, and coffee to help neighbors in need endure the cold winter. Joseph Clinic, located in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, is a free medical clinic providing care in over 20 departments including internal medicine, orthopedics, and dentistry, serving homeless people and residents of small-room villages.
Through this sponsorship, Mindeulle Noodle House was able to prepare more abundant food for the Lunar New Year, practicing neighborly love, and Joseph Clinic was able to provide patients with dentures and dental treatments, which are costly but most needed by those in need. The sponsorship fund delivery ceremony was attended by Kim Hyun-jin, Head of Social Contribution at KDB, and Seo Young-nam, CEO of Mindeulle Noodle House. Both organizations agreed to further cooperate to support marginalized groups facing difficulties due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.
A KDB official explained, "Through the KDB Warm Companionship project, we have supported 123 marginalized individuals in welfare blind spots, including people with disabilities, patients with rare incurable diseases, crime victims, and low-income artists, as well as 16 welfare facilities and organizations." He added, "Including this support, we have delivered a total of 900 million KRW in warm sponsorship funds over 51 rounds."
