Financial Supervisory Service Website Overhaul: "Integrating PC and Mobile for Easier Information Access"

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Sun-mi] The Financial Supervisory Service (FSS) has completely revamped its website to enhance user convenience and expand the provision of beneficial information such as financial education content.

On the 24th, the FSS announced that the website overhaul focused on key aspects including ▲ integration of PC and mobile websites ▲ customized screen layouts for different visitors ▲ establishment of an online integrated service for financial education information ▲ and development of an integrated inquiry system for accounting firm information.

The FSS website, which receives over 3 million visitors annually, serves as a financial information portal providing valuable information to financial consumers and industry professionals. However, limited services on the mobile website caused inconvenience in use and there was a need for a service that consolidates financial education content scattered across multiple institutions.

The FSS first built a ‘responsive website’ that automatically adjusts the resolution and content layout depending on the access device such as PC or smartphone. This enables financial consumers and others to use the same services on mobile devices like smartphones and tablets as on the PC website. However, for civil complaint applications, website improvements will be made within this year, and mobile services are expected to launch in 2023.

To provide tailored information to users such as financial consumers, industry professionals, and journalists, the homepage’s main screen was grouped into four areas based on content type, with frequently accessed menus arranged separately in each area to make it easier to find necessary information.

Recognizing the need to enhance user convenience by integrating financial education-related information, including content dispersed across various institutions, the FSS’s ‘e-Financial Education Center’ website was completely revamped to offer an online integrated financial education information service. This allows users to easily search and utilize diverse educational programs and content from 32 domestic financial education institutions all in one place.

An integrated inquiry system was also established to allow users to easily view and access accounting firm information, which was previously difficult to access. Companies, investors, and other information users can now easily access key public information of accounting firms and perform comparative analyses between firms.

Additionally, to enable swift identity verification, a private electronic signature simple authentication method was newly introduced, allowing easy authentication via simple passwords or biometric information. Furthermore, seven task-specific websites were integrated into the main website to enable users to quickly search and utilize necessary information. The overhaul also included updates to task-specific websites such as the Financial Consumer Protection Department, Financial Hub, and the English-language website content.
