Samsung Electronics YouTube Teaser Video Released
[Asia Economy Reporter Minyoung Cha] #. A teaser video presumed to be for Samsung Electronics' new flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S22 series, ahead of next month's Unpacked (new product launch) event has been released. As No Taemoon, President of Samsung Electronics' MX Division, said, "We will write a new history for Galaxy," attention is focused on whether a new product that meets market expectations will be unveiled.
On the 21st, a short 15-second video was uploaded to Samsung Electronics' official YouTube account. The title of the video is 'Samsung Galaxy Unpacked.' The video shows a black object presumed to be the S22 series. In the final scene, the phrase "Ready to break the rules?" appears, and the video ends with Samsung's English logo.
The teaser video reached 950,000 views in just one day as of the 22nd. 19,000 people pressed 'like,' and more than 1,500 left comments. This reflects the growing interest and expectations for the S22 series. Famous IT YouTuber 'Itsseop' also posted a short message on his Facebook saying, "Galaxy S22 teaser is out!" along with a link to the video.
President No Taemoon also expressed confidence in the S22 series through a contribution titled "Once again, surpassing limits to establish a new standard for smartphones" on Samsung Electronics Newsroom. He particularly emphasized the camera performance, battery, and execution speed. President No stated, "Users will be able to confidently capture bright and clear photos and videos even at night, and fully enjoy powerful battery life, execution speed, and useful features." He added, "By holding the smartest Galaxy phone ever, users will be able to experience cutting-edge innovation directly in their daily lives."
According to IT tipsters, the S22 series is expected to be equipped with a triple camera setup including a 50-megapixel main sensor, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide sensor, and a 10-megapixel telephoto lens with 3x zoom. The image sensor is Samsung’s ‘ISOCELL GN5.’ The new S Pen, expected to be installed in the highest-spec model ‘Ultra,’ which is anticipated to replace the Galaxy Note series, will have a latency of 2.8ms, three times faster response speed compared to its predecessor. The leaked battery capacity of the S22 is 3,700mAh, which is 300mAh less than the previous model. It is estimated to support about 9 hours of web surfing and 7 hours 36 minutes of YouTube playback on a single charge.
As part of the industry’s key topic of ‘ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management,’ the S22 series also promotes itself as an eco-friendly product. Samsung announced a new vision called ‘Galaxy for the Earth’ in August last year and declared its plan to apply recycled materials to Galaxy new products by 2025. President No stated, "I am confident that this new product will be the most eco-friendly Galaxy product that can participate in opening a sustainable future."
Samsung Electronics is recognized for introducing innovative features beyond the smartphone category through the Galaxy S, Z, and A series. Representative examples include the digital pen S Pen that allows smartphones and tablets to be used like a notebook, variations of large 5.3-inch screens, and efforts to popularize foldable smartphones through the Z series.
President No said, "Samsung Electronics has not been shaken by skeptical views and has presented new standards of innovation. I want to share this special experience of rewriting the future of smartphones with you." Attention is focused on whether Samsung, which led the popularization of foldable smartphones last year with the Galaxy Z Flip3 and Z Fold3, can again make a historic mark in the global smartphone industry this year with the S series.
