Gongyoung Home Shopping announced that starting at midnight on the 24th, it will broadcast its live commerce 'Gongyoung Labang' on TV through 'TV Gongyoung Labang.' Live commerce, which was previously only accessible via mobile devices such as smartphones, will now be aired on TV for the first time in the home shopping industry. TV Gongyoung Labang was planned as part of Gongyoung Home Shopping's 'Mobile First' policy, which began accelerating this year. The company explained that live commerce can introduce a wider variety of products, including small-packaged items, compared to traditional home shopping, which is expected to help expand sales channels for small business owners.
The first TV Gongyoung Labang will be simultaneously broadcast live on Gongyoung Home Shopping's YouTube and Instagram. Customers' real-time chats will also be visible on TV. Gongyoung Home Shopping will hold an event where 30 customers who verify their purchases through the chat window will be selected by lottery to receive coffee gifticons.
Additionally, comedian Kim Si-deok will appear as a guest on the first TV Gongyoung Labang to introduce Redhyang and Hallabong. Gongyoung Home Shopping will sell 2kg each of Redhyang and Hallabong for 35,900 KRW as holiday gifts. Customers who purchase multiple quantities of the same product via mobile can receive up to a 20% discount at checkout.
Gongyoung Home Shopping is also putting great effort into Gongyoung Labang to strengthen its mobile business. Previously, the company significantly reinforced its mobile live commerce and mobile marketing teams through organizational restructuring. The number of live commerce broadcasts, which was at least 20 and up to 30 times per month until last year, is planned to expand to 100 times this year. Ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday, weekend broadcasts began on the 22nd.
Park Jeong-hwan, Team Leader of Gongyoung Home Shopping Live Commerce Team 1, said, “We are now able to create synergy by utilizing various platforms such as TV home shopping, mobile live commerce, online malls, and social networking services (SNS),” adding, “We will secure diverse sales channels for small and medium-sized enterprises and small business owners across all channels.”
