Choi Young-jo, Mayor of Gyeongsan, to Prioritize Quarantine and Livelihood... Announces Comprehensive Six-Field New Year Plan Mayor Choi Young-jo of Gyeongsan is presiding over the Lunar New Year holiday countermeasure meeting.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yeo Jong-gu] Gyeongsan City in Gyeongbuk Province will implement a comprehensive Lunar New Year holiday plan for two weeks until the 2nd of next month to ensure safe public welfare management, including COVID-19 prevention measures.


According to Gyeongsan City on the 20th, 34 detailed measures across six major areas?prevention, safety, convenience, environment, economy, and welfare?have been established ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday.


The city will operate screening clinics, special disinfection teams, a home treatment T/F team, and a social distancing prevention guidance and inspection team to prevent the spread of infection during the holiday period.


It also plans to strengthen prevention measures at major facilities with frequent visits and high risk of spread, such as religious facilities, food service establishments, singing rooms, PC cafes, and cemetery and columbarium facilities.


During the Lunar New Year holiday, a comprehensive situation room composed of 10 teams will be organized and operated, and two regional emergency medical institutions, 249 public health centers and hospitals, and 103 pharmacies will be operated to minimize medical service gaps and prevent inconvenience to citizens.


In addition, a situation room will be operated to stabilize prices.


Support will be provided for events promoting local agricultural and specialty products, traditional market shopping events, 36 billion KRW scale working capital support for small and medium enterprises, and prevention of wage arrears for workers.


Choi Young-jo, mayor of Gyeongsan City, said, “Although this Lunar New Year holiday is difficult due to the spread of COVID-19, we will do our best to ensure citizen safety by thoroughly managing prevention and public welfare during the holiday period.”
