[Asia Economy Reporter Na Ye-eun] Recently, after the broadcast of Kim Geon-hee's '7-hour phone call recording,' Kim's online fan cafe 'Geonsarang' has launched and is selling a 'Kim Geon-hee Mask' that combines Kim's face image with a mask.
The fan cafe announced the sale of the 'Kim Geon-hee Mask' through a notice on the 19th, stating that it is a "'Geonsarang goods' (planned items made for fans) mask design and actual printed photo." The mask is engraved with Kim's character along with the phrase 'Geonsarang♥.'
The cafe operator explained the price, saying, "Many people found the beak-shaped mask uncomfortable, so we changed it to a folding type, and the photo was replaced with a drawing due to portrait rights issues." The prices are 100 masks for 100,000 won, 50 masks for 55,000 won, and 10 masks for 13,000 won.
They also guided that mask orders can be made through personal chats or Band, adding, "If you criticize (oppose) the mask, your activity will be suspended, and posts will be deleted," and "If you only support verbally without action, you become an incompetent conservative."
They further added, "We are planning a support rally for Mrs. Kim Geon-hee at Gangnam Station soon," and "If you come then, we will hand out one mask each."
Meanwhile, as of 4 p.m. that day, the number of members in Kim's fan cafe was counted at 39,285. This cafe, established on December 19 last year, had only about 200 members as of the 16th, but the number of members has been explosively increasing after MBC broadcast Kim's '7-hour recording.'
