Global resale platform StockX announced the report "Big Facts? Current Culture Index 2022," summarizing brand statistics, trends, and products based on transaction performance throughout 2021.
According to the report, there was little change in the top 5 sneaker brands based on total transactions in 2021. The Air Jordan 1 maintained its undisputed first place, while the Nike Dunk rose 4 spots compared to 2020, and the Air Force 1 and Yeezy 350 each dropped 2 spots from 2020. The top three (Jordan Brand, Nike, Adidas) remained the same, whereas New Balance, which had been rising one step each year since 2019, continued its momentum and swapped places with Converse to rank 4th.

Bape, Reebok, and Crocs also showed notable changes. Based on total transaction volume in 2021, Bape rose 6 spots to enter the top 10, and Reebok climbed 3 spots. Crocs, which won the "Shoe of the Year" award in 2021 for its classic clogs, rose 1 spot; however, more remarkable than its rise was maintaining an average price premium of 98%, the highest average premium among all shoes.
Additionally, StockX presented several predictions for 2022 through this report. For example, sports including tennis, racing, and gaming are expected to play a larger role in fashion; the book sector is anticipated to continue its growth; ongoing success in sneaker brand collaborations is forecasted; and the resale market is projected to become even more inclusive.
StockX regularly publishes reports named "Big Facts" based on such big data and is preparing to release new statistical data in the first half of 2022.
