[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Cho Hyung-joo] Dongshin University (President Choi Il) announced on the 20th that it held a tuition review committee meeting and decided to freeze undergraduate and graduate tuition fees for the 2022 academic year to reduce the financial burden on parents and students.
The admission fee, which had been reduced by 20% annually since 2018, will be effectively abolished starting this year.
According to the university information disclosure standards, the scholarship amount per enrolled student at Dongshin University is 4.02 million KRW, and the average annual tuition fee is 6.65 million KRW, resulting in a scholarship-to-tuition ratio of 60.4%.
In the first semester of last year, 5,193 students received scholarships, accounting for 84.5% of the total enrolled students of 6,138 (based on information disclosure standards).
Notably, 2,242 students received full scholarships in the first semester, representing 36.5%.
The achievements of Dongshin University's scholarship and educational programs have led to a high employment rate. According to the Ministry of Education's information disclosure results for 2022, Dongshin University's employment rate was 65.2%, the highest among general universities in Gwangju and Jeonnam with over 1,000 graduates.
