“Good Products but No More to Sell”... ‘Yeongju Market Day’ Mall Early Lunar New Year Sale Sold Out, ‘Encore Discount Event’ Underway Yeongju City Agricultural Specialty Products Shopping Mall.


[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Gwi-yeol] ‘Yeongju Jangnal’ has enjoyed considerable success. Thanks to the popularity of ‘Yeongju Jangnal,’ the official agricultural specialty product shopping mall of Yeongju City, it is entering an ‘encore discount’ phase.


According to Yeongju City on the 20th, the Yeongju Jangnal shopping mall’s Lunar New Year discount event, which started on the 11th to celebrate the Im-in year Lunar New Year, sold out early within 8 days due to the planned discount stock being depleted.


In response to the enthusiastic support, Yeongju City will hold the Yeongju Jangnal Lunar New Year Tiger Encore Discount event starting from the 20th, returning once again to meet consumers.


The encore discount event offers the same discount rates as before on excellent agricultural specialty products from Yeongju City such as apples, ginseng, and Korean beef. Livestock products are discounted by at least 25%, and agricultural specialty products by at least 30%. The event will continue until the discounted stock is sold out.


Yeongju Jangnal is a shopping mall that sells agricultural specialty products from the Yeongju region, including apples, ginseng, and Korean beef produced in the clean area of Sobaeksan. It currently sells about 1,500 items from over 100 farms and companies producing high-quality products.


Previously, since Chuseok 2020, four large-scale holiday discount events were held, achieving early sell-outs. Yeongju Jangnal also recorded sales of about 830 million KRW during this Lunar New Year discount event, continuing its sell-out streak.


Additionally, last year’s total sales reached 4.1 billion KRW, achieving a sales increase of about five times compared to 2020, proving itself as a representative online shopping mall for local agricultural specialty products.


Consumer Park Soo-kyung said, “I purchased from Yeongju Jangnal again this year to prepare for the holidays without fail,” adding, “I was worried that product quality might decline as online sales volumes increased due to COVID-19, but I trusted the shopping mall because it only sells products certified by Yeongju City.”


Yeongju City stated, “We will not only hold encore discount events but also secure a customer base through various promotions and create a trusted Yeongju Jangnal shopping mall through thorough quality control.”


Currently, Yeongju City is actively promoting the revitalization of the Yeongju Jangnal shopping mall operation in cooperation with the Gyeongsangbuk-do Agricultural and Food Distribution Education Promotion Institute, a specialized agricultural food distribution organization, focusing efforts on raising the brand awareness of Yeongju agricultural specialty products and pioneering sales channels.
