SKT Applies Cloud Solution 'Taco' to Hanacard MyData

[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] SK Telecom is officially entering the business by supporting MyData (personal credit information management) services in the financial sector.

On the 20th, SK Telecom announced that it applied its self-developed cloud solution 'TACO' to Hana Card's MyData service.

TACO is a container solution developed by SK Telecom. A container is a software package that includes all necessary elements to run an application in any environment. This is the first time TACO has been actually applied to a financial sector MyData service.

TACO supports adding new services and updating existing services. For example, if there is a surge in MyData service access causing a risk of server downtime, it automatically increases and optimizes the service server capacity on behalf of the administrator. It also supports MyData operators' service operations by shortening the time required to apply new app updates.

SK Telecom stated, "We expect that the establishment of Hana Card's MyData service will serve as an opportunity for the widespread use of the TACO solution across various industries."

SK Telecom also forecasted that the use of the TACO solution will expand among various operators, such as distribution companies seeking personalized marketing and manufacturing companies wanting to build and manage smart factory solutions.

Kim Myung-guk, head of SK Telecom's cloud business, said, "We expect that Hana Card's MyData service, applied with TACO, will greatly contribute to service innovation in the financial industry," adding, "We will expand SK Telecom's digital infrastructure services to contribute to various industrial innovations by making TACO available to anyone on the public cloud in the future."
