Urbanbase Selected as a 'Youth-Friendly Small Giant Company' by the Ministry of Employment and Labor

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Jong-hwa] Urbanbase Co., Ltd. announced that it has been selected as a '2022 Youth-Friendly Small Giant Company' by the Ministry of Employment and Labor. The company received high evaluations in the areas of 'wages' and 'work-life balance.'

The Youth-Friendly Small Giant Company certification is awarded to companies with outstanding performance in the fields of △wages △work-life balance △employment stability △youth employment. Since 2016, the Ministry of Employment and Labor has selected and announced these companies annually to provide quality job information to young people. Urbanbase particularly excelled in the wage and work-life balance categories.

Urbanbase implements various systems to balance employees' work and life for sustainable management. Representative examples include the 'responsibility work system,' which allows employees to freely decide their daily working hours according to their individual schedules and goals; the 'year-end refresh leave,' during which the company switches to a rest period from Christmas to the New Year; and the '2-hour leave pass,' which permits employees to leave work for urgent matters.

To strengthen employee motivation, the company also focuses on non-welfare aspects. Stock options are provided to all employees, and performance-based bonuses are paid annually. For those who acquire intellectual property rights such as job-related patents, a 'IP reward' is also offered to ensure sufficient compensation. Additionally, unlimited book purchase expenses and education support are provided to actively encourage personal growth.

Song Seung-hee, head of Urbanbase’s HR team, stated, "All systems and culture at Urbanbase prioritize harmonious growth and development of both individuals and the company, and we actively incorporate employees' opinions to improve. Being selected as a Youth-Friendly Small Giant Company is a result of these efforts." She added, "We will continue to strive to create a corporate culture where autonomous growth is possible through warm communication."

Meanwhile, Urbanbase selected Hana Financial Investment as the lead underwriter for its initial public offering (IPO) in October and is preparing for a KOSDAQ technical special listing.
