Supporting the Global Brand Growth of Korean Sellers
Amazon Global Selling Korea announced its key business plans for 2022 as follows.
Amazon Global Selling Korea aims to continuously support Korean sellers in efficiently starting and operating their businesses in emerging overseas markets with export diversification opportunities, including not only the US, Europe, Canada, Mexico, and Japan but also India, Australia, and Singapore, to expand their sales markets and sustain global presence and growth.
Strengthening Support Programs through Collaboration
In 2021, Amazon Global Selling Korea expanded its cooperation cases with the Service Provider Network (SPN) from 55 to 75 compared to the previous year. Furthermore, collaboration with government agencies, which had been mainly centered around Seoul, was significantly expanded to include 9 provinces and 9 cities, including Busan. This year, the SPN Expo covering the 'A to Z' of global selling, including marketing know-how, certification, and shipping processes, is planned to be held. The goal is to strengthen support to help startups and small and medium-sized enterprises overcome difficulties they may face during export activities and business expansion through Amazon Global Selling.
Improving Listing Quality Based on Enhanced Selling Programs and Tools
Amazon Global Selling Korea plans to continue introducing various powerful Amazon marketing tools that allow startups to showcase their cutting-edge products to millions of Amazon customers, as well as programs that provide opportunities for those passionate about global selling. Additionally, the domestic advertising support team, newly established last year, will help sellers accumulate customer reviews?one of the most important assets sellers can gain through Amazon?and enhance brand awareness by utilizing various innovative advertising tools. Moreover, Amazon will continue to provide various tools and services such as Amazon Brand Registry, Amazon Advertising, and Brand Analytics to help sellers register and protect their brands and get closer to their target customers.
Success Stories Achieved Together with Korean Sellers
The cross-border e-commerce market is expected to grow at a rate 2.3 times faster than the overall e-commerce industry over the next five years. Korean sellers are also achieving great success together with Amazon. At this summit, Korean companies such as Samyang Foods, Blank Corporation, ASIABNC, Pethroom, One Thing, Bangatgan Cosmetics, Samjin Fishcake, VT Cosmetic, Melixir, and ISNTREE were selected as the "2021 Amazon Top Korean Brands," highlighting their outstanding achievements.
Yoon Young-hee, Director of Samyang Foods, said, "Samyang Foods launched the Samyang brand store on Amazon in June last year with the goal of activating global e-commerce. We developed products exclusively for Amazon US and participated in events such as Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Although there were several challenges, thanks to the support from Amazon Global Selling, we achieved significant sales growth in a short period." She added, "In 2022, we will showcase various products beyond our flagship brand 'Buldak' to demonstrate the strength of K-food and K-ramen."
Seo Hye-won, Global E-commerce Team Leader of global beauty brand Bangatgan Cosmetics, said, "Since entering the Amazon brand store, our brand awareness and sales in the European market have surged, and B2B inquiries from the European region are also flooding in." She added, "Seeing the potential for success on Amazon, we are preparing to open more Amazon marketplaces this year, including India and Mexico."
Kim Eun-joo, Team Leader of pet brand Pethroom, said, "After entering the Japanese Amazon brand store last year, three of our products ranked among the top in the pet supplies category within two months. Our products were already loved by many pet owners domestically due to their excellent quality before launching in Japan." She added, "This year, through various Amazon promotions and new product launches, we will do our best to help Pethroom become a global brand recognized for quality by more Japanese consumers."
Meanwhile, this year’s Amazon Seller Conference will provide diverse insights into the latest industry trends to help Korean sellers enter the global market through various keynote speeches and sessions. More than 2,300 existing and prospective cross-border sellers hoping to expand their businesses globally will participate.
