[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Je-hoon] Genesis brand announced on the 20th that it will officially sponsor the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship.
The Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship is the first tournament of the 'Rolex Series,' which refers to the five most prestigious tournaments on the DP World Tour. This year's tournament will be held at Yas Links in Abu Dhabi until the 23rd (local time).
Through this sponsorship, Genesis will provide official vehicles for the tournament for five years until 2026. This year, a total of 42 vehicles will be provided, including 36 GV80s, 5 G80s, and 1 G80 Sport.
Genesis will support 35 GV80s and 5 G80s as official vehicles for players' protocol and tournament officials. One GV80 will be displayed at the brand booth inside the tournament venue to offer vehicle explanations and test drive reservations to visitors. Additionally, a G80 Sport will be awarded as a prize to any player who records a hole-in-one at the 17th hole.
Meanwhile, Genesis has been actively conducting various golf sponsorships both domestically and internationally. Since 2017, it has hosted the Genesis Invitational on the PGA Tour and sponsored The CJ Cup. In Korea, it supports men's professional golf through the KPGA Genesis Championship and the KPGA Korean Tour Genesis Points, continuing its marketing efforts.
A Genesis representative stated, "This year, you can see the Genesis brand not only at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship but also at world-class golf tournaments such as the Genesis Invitational, the Genesis Scottish Open, and the Presidents Cup." He added, "We will use various golf sponsorships as a global marketing platform to provide opportunities for Korean male professional golfers to advance globally, while widely promoting the brand and expanding customer experiences."
