[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heung-soon] Samsung Electronics is launching the premium wireless vacuum cleaner ‘Bespoke Jet,’ which reflects a customized home appliance concept, in Southeast Asia and Europe. The company is expected to accelerate its global market penetration focusing on essential home appliances used in kitchens and living rooms.
According to industry sources on the 19th, Samsung Electronics plans to sell the Bespoke Jet in Southeast Asia and Europe this month, followed by a launch in the U.S. market in March. The available colors are Midnight Blue, Misty White, and Woody Green.
The Bespoke Jet was first released domestically in April last year. It features an integrated structure combining the dust auto-ejection system called the ‘Clean Station’ and the charging dock, allowing simultaneous dust disposal and charging. Additionally, it applies popular colors from the Bespoke home appliance line to harmonize with interior decor. The vacuum cleaner’s suction power is up to 210W.
Germany’s leading testing and certification body ‘SLG’ evaluated that the Bespoke Jet blocks 99.999% of fine dust particles sized between 0.5 and 4.2 micrometers. It also blocks allergens such as house dust mites, dog and cat hair, and pollen. The British Allergy Foundation (BAF) certified the Bespoke Jet’s performance in blocking allergen emissions.
This product was introduced to overseas visitors at CES 2022, the world’s largest electronics and IT exhibition held in Las Vegas, USA, earlier this month. Through this event, it received favorable reviews for its design, which allows it to be used as a living room accessory rather than a home appliance hidden away in corners out of sight.
Samsung Electronics is expanding the scope of Bespoke home appliances by introducing the ‘Bespoke Kitchen Package,’ consisting of refrigerators, oven ranges, microwaves, and dishwashers, to the U.S. market starting with refrigerators. In the first quarter of this year, it will launch a French door (4-door) refrigerator in the U.S. with a top refrigerator compartment that opens left and right and a bottom freezer drawer. In both the U.S. and Europe, Samsung has also introduced the Bespoke AirDresser, a clothing care device, alongside the Bespoke refrigerator.
Bespoke is increasingly gaining attention in the global market. According to Samsung Electronics, as of last year, Bespoke products were purchased in a total of 41 countries, with 788,000 refrigerators sold. Online sales are also prominent. From January to August last year, Bespoke products sold through the online flagship store in the U.S. accounted for 45% of total Bespoke sales.
