Strengthening Global Jewelry Brand... Preparing for 'Post-Corona' Era
[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Kim] Lotte Duty Free announced on the 19th that it has opened the first exclusive boutique of the Italian luxury jewelry brand 'Pomellato' at its Myeongdong main store in Korea.
'Pomellato' is an Italian jewelry brand established in 1967 by goldsmith Pino Rabolini. It is loved in Europe, North America, Japan, and other regions for its modern design and delicate craftsmanship. Pomellato jewelry is handcrafted in its Milan workshop in Italy.
Pomellato's jewelry collections are characterized by colorful gemstones in various hues. Lotte Duty Free explained that last year, sales in the jewelry and watch categories grew by about 35% compared to the previous year, and with the expectation that demand for uniquely designed jewelry will increase mainly among the 20s and 30s age group, it opened the first exclusive boutique store on the 11th floor of the Myeongdong main store in Korea.
Pomellato's representative collections include the 'NUDO' collection, which features vibrant gemstones set without prongs to highlight the jewelry's natural brilliance, and the 'Catene' collection, inspired by chains and known for its striking design. The 'Iconica' collection, created to commemorate Pomellato's 50th anniversary, is popular among young people for its versatility in layering and mix-and-match styling.
Last year, Lotte Duty Free strengthened its cosmetics line by expanding exclusive entries of global beauty brands such as 'Valmont,' 'Tatcha,' and 'Charlotte Tilbury.' This year, starting with 'Pomellato,' it plans to prepare for the 'post-COVID' era focusing on jewelry and watch brands.
Lee Seung-guk, Head of Merchandise at Lotte Duty Free, said, "Lotte Duty Free has been highly regarded for its jewelry sourcing capabilities by exclusively operating high jewelry brand stores such as Boucheron, Chaumet, and Fred in the duty-free industry. As we have introduced the global jewelry brand 'Pomellato' to Korea for the first time, we will continue to strive to offer customers a variety of jewelry products."
