'Labang' Host Competition Rate 150 to 1... Shinsegae International Selects 2nd Personal Shopper Cohort Shinsegae International S.I.Live Personal Shopper 2nd Generation


[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Shinsegae International announced on the 19th that it held the inauguration ceremony for the 2nd generation of 'Personal Shoppers' who will take charge of the professional hosting of its own live commerce platform, S.I.Live.


S.I.Live is Shinsegae International's proprietary live broadcasting platform specializing in premium fashion, beauty, and lifestyle content. To enhance expertise and competitiveness, it established its own broadcasting studio and is conducting broadcasts by nurturing Personal Shoppers who provide differentiated services like VIP dedicated shoppers instead of general show hosts.


For the recruitment of the 2nd generation Personal Shoppers, anyone could apply regardless of age, education, gender, major, or occupation, attracting applicants with diverse ages and backgrounds. From influencers with hundreds of thousands of followers to YouTube creators, broadcasters, models, makeup artists, and flight attendants, about 1,000 applicants competed, resulting in a competition rate of 150 to 1.


Unlike existing live commerce that focuses solely on sales within a limited time, Shinsegae International evaluated candidates based on their interest and understanding of brands, products, and trends, as well as their communication skills with customers, since S.I.Live aims to provide broadcasts rich in content and information.


Through a rigorous selection process including the first round of document and video tests, the second round of practical live broadcast tests, and the final interview, six candidates were ultimately selected. The final successful candidates will conduct various fixed programs through S.I.Live over the next six months.


Shinsegae International recently appointed two male Personal Shoppers for the first time, targeting male consumers who are highly interested in fashion such as sneakers and golf, as well as lifestyle categories like premium audio electronics and outdoor gear. Additionally, a beauty expert with a background as a makeup artist was selected to secure differentiated expertise.


Among the final successful candidates, 'Park Jeongjin' appeared on the dating show 'Love Catcher 2' and operates a YouTube channel called 'Seraege Jeongjin' with nearly 300,000 subscribers. In addition, 'Hailey,' a former makeup artist for a famous brand, will introduce new products aligned with trends through the newly established program 'The Woman Who Reads Reviews,' offering various informative content.


A representative of Shinsegae International's S.I.Live said, "Interest in live broadcasting has increased so much that the number of applicants doubled compared to the first recruitment," adding, "We plan to actively support the Personal Shoppers to become competitive and professional in the rapidly growing live commerce environment."
