[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Gwiyeol] The Korea Sharing Federation donated 10,000 kg of white rice to Yeongyang County on the 17th. 500 bags of 20 kg each, worth 33 million won, will be delivered to underprivileged neighbors.

Based in Daegu, the Korea Sharing Federation is a benevolent volunteer organization established in 1992. Without government support, it aims to encourage citizens to become angels themselves and practice love for neighbors both domestically and abroad.

They operate 13 free angel meal centers nationwide. In line with their founding purpose of helping socially vulnerable groups, they protect neighbors in blind spots such as isolated elderly living alone and children suffering from food insecurity, and also carry out support projects for impoverished people around the world.

Je Jonghee, Deputy Director of the Korea Sharing Federation, said, “We donated rice of love to help the underprivileged who are going through even harder times amid the anxious atmosphere caused by COVID-19. We will take care of socially vulnerable groups and practice sharing.”

Ahn Hyoseon, Director of the Administrative Welfare Bureau, said, “At a time when continued economic downturn requires more attention to vulnerable groups, this much-needed gift has arrived.”
