Yoon Bong-geun, Presidential Commission on Balanced National Development, Book Launch Event on the 22nd

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] Yoon Bong-geun, a National Communication Committee member of the Presidential Committee on Balanced National Development and former chairman of the Gwangju Metropolitan Council, who is expected to run for mayor of Gwangsan District, Gwangju Metropolitan City, will hold a book launch event on the 22nd at 3 p.m. at the International Conference Hall of Gwangju Women's University.


Considering COVID-19 and the Hwajeong-dong collapse accident, all festive events have been omitted, and the event will be held humbly and simply.


Before the main event, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., there will be a signing session for deep conversations with citizens.


At the main event, as a native of Gwangsan District, the author will also present a video of the book "Gwangsan Must Live for Honam to Live," which was written after visiting every corner of the region.


The book includes messages of support from youth, people with disabilities, small business owners, multicultural communities, companies, and labor groups, expressing the author's determination to devote all efforts to the development of his hometown, Gwangsan.


After the signing session, former Prime Minister Chung Sye-kyun and National Assembly member Woo Won-shik will deliver messages of support via video during the main event.


Mayor Lee Yong-seop of Gwangju, Governor Yang Seung-jo of Chungnam, former Blue House Senior Secretary for Political Affairs Kang Ki-jung, Master Kim Bong-gon of Cheonghak-dong, and trot singer Dahyeon will also send their support through videos.


Song Gap-seok, chairman of the Democratic Party Gwangju Metropolitan City Party Committee, and National Assembly members Lee Yong-bin and Min Hyung-bae, both from Gwangsan, along with many other lawmakers from Gwangju and Jeonnam, are scheduled to give congratulatory speeches.


The author currently serves as a National Communication Committee member of the Presidential Committee on Balanced National Development and as a member of the Administrative Coordination Committee of the Prime Minister's Office. He has also served as chairman of the Gwangju Metropolitan Council, chairman of the Gwangju Education Committee, and chairman of the National Council of Chairpersons of City and Provincial Councils.
