Kakao Delays Mobile Daum News Revamp Again

[Asia Economy Reporter Buaeri] Kakao postponed the revamp of mobile Daum again, which was scheduled to start on the 17th.

On the 14th, Kakao informed media outlets that the mobile Daum revamp would be finalized on that day. They also shared operational guides and tips for efficient management.

However, on the 16th, they revised the schedule again, stating that "the date for the mobile Daum revamp has been adjusted." According to Kakao, a specific revamp schedule has not yet been determined.

On the 13th, from 2 a.m. to 5 a.m., Kakao provided the mobile Daum service with the revamped version, but due to errors and other issues, they reverted to the previous service state.

Previously, Kakao announced that it would no longer provide the article recommendation arrangement, ranking news service, news widget function, and media selection feature that were offered in the existing news section. Instead, services such as media companies directly editing and publishing articles and 'Kakao View,' where users curate content themselves, were planned to be introduced.

A Kakao representative explained, "We will proceed with some feature improvements to enhance user convenience," adding, "The revamp will proceed as soon as the work is completed."
