White House: "Biden to Hold Virtual Summit with Japanese Prime Minister on 21st"

[Asia Economy Reporter Seulgina Jo] U.S. President Joe Biden will hold a virtual summit with Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida on the 21st (local time).


White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki stated in a press release on the 16th that President Biden will strengthen the ties between the two governments, economies, and peoples through the virtual meeting with Prime Minister Kishida. The two leaders are expected to emphasize the importance of the U.S.-Japan alliance, which has been the cornerstone of peace and security in the Indo-Pacific and worldwide, during this summit.


Press Secretary Psaki said, "President Biden looks forward to advancing our shared vision for a free and open Indo-Pacific and expanding close cooperation on key issues such as COVID-19 response, addressing the climate crisis, and new technology partnerships."
