[Asia Economy Reporter Junhyung Lee] KCC announced on the 13th that it donated 1 billion KRW to the Community Chest of Korea, also known as Sarangui Yeolmae, to participate in the 'Hope 2022 Sharing Campaign.'

On the 12th, KCC held a donation ceremony at the Sarangui Yeolmae Hall located in Jung-gu, Seoul. The ceremony was attended by Kim Sang-jun, KCC director, and Kim Sang-gyun, Secretary General of the Community Chest of Korea, among others. KCC explained that the donation was made to fulfill the company's social responsibility.

The company divided the donation among the branches of the Community Chest of Korea across the country, including Ulsan, Jeonbuk, and Chungnam, where KCC's major business sites are located, to ensure that the support benefits reach those in need. The funds were designated and entrusted to local governments by region to be used for living expenses, medical costs, and other support for low-income households.

A KCC official said, "The difficulties faced by low-income families have never been greater due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic. We hope this donation will provide some help to neighbors in need." The official added, "We will continue not only with donations but also with consistent and sincere social contribution activities to coexist with the local community."
