[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Hyowon] Goodoc, a mobile healthcare platform company and subsidiary of Carelabs, a KOSDAQ-listed company, announced that the cumulative number of hospital and pharmacy user reviews has surpassed 350,000, further solidifying its position as the number one healthcare platform in Korea.
Goodoc's hospital and pharmacy user reviews recorded approximately 200,000 cases last year alone, representing an increase of about 255.9% compared to the previous year. As of the 10th, the cumulative number of hospital and pharmacy reviews on the Goodoc platform reached a total of 350,000, which the company explained is the largest amount of medical institution review data held among domestic healthcare platforms.
Goodoc is the number one healthcare platform in Korea in terms of user numbers. The average monthly user count reaches about 1.5 million. The company analyzed that the steep growth in the number of reviews is due to the steady increase in Goodoc app members as well as a significant expansion in platform usage.
The company emphasized that Goodoc’s review policy is based on user reviews written on factual grounds with the purpose of resolving medical information asymmetry, enabling platform users to receive better medical services.
To prevent cases of intentional defamation and marketing retaliation targeting certain medical institutions, the company has periodically introduced strengthened verification systems and established a monitoring management system to ensure that reviews do not lead to inducement of specific medical institutions through false information.
Additionally, recently, the company changed from a ‘star rating review’ to a keyword selection-type ‘recommendation review’ system to reduce potential biases that could arise institutionally, and strengthened the purpose of providing information focused on the unique strengths of each medical institution. This approach maintains the existing medical market order while expanding user choice, adding sophistication to platform operations, according to the company.
Im Jinseok, CEO of Goodoc, stated, “Based on reliable data, we will further strengthen hospital matching services suitable for symptoms within the first half of the year and continue to explore various ways to make access to everyday medical services more convenient and universally available through data.”
