[Asia Economy Reporter Jeong Hyunjin] Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction announced on the 10th that it has signed a 'Business Agreement for 5G-based Next-Generation Digital Field Cooperation' with Gangwon Technopark (Gangwon TP), Ericsson LG, and Doosan Digital Innovation Co., Ltd. (DDI).
The signing ceremony held at Bundang Doosan Tower in Gyeonggi-do was attended by key representatives including Kim Seongin, Director of Gangwon TP, Shim Gyoheon, Executive Director of Ericsson LG, Lim Inyoung, Executive Director of DDI, and Jang Seyoung, Executive Director of Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction. The attendees agreed to establish a comprehensive cooperative relationship to create a digital ecosystem in Gangwon Province, including digital control centers related to power generation, transportation, and manufacturing.
Gangwon TP plans to promote the construction of a Smart Business Center for building and demonstrating control centers utilizing digital twin technology. Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction will contribute digital solutions, DDI will provide system integration capabilities, and Ericsson LG will cooperate with 5G technology.
Song Yongjin, Head of the Strategic Innovation Division at Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction, stated, "Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction's digital business has demonstrated proven technological capabilities in domestic and international power generation fields such as power plants and offshore wind power, building trust with customers. Through this cooperation, we will actively expand our digital business into non-power generation sectors by promoting the establishment of a new digital ecosystem and the demonstration of new businesses."
Since 2013, Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction has operated a 'Digital Innovation' organization composed of teams such as Data Analysis and Digital Solutions. The company has been applying its self-developed digital solutions, including an ICT-based integrated monitoring system for wind turbines and 'Prevision,' an early warning solution for power plants, to domestic and overseas power plants.
