Gwangju Seo-gu, Disability Employment Project... 185 Participants in 78 Fields

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Shin Dong-ho] Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Seo Dae-seok) has officially launched a disability employment project with a budget of 2.39 billion KRW this year, the Year of the Black Tiger, to create a "World Working Together."

According to Seo-gu on the 4th, this disability employment project involves 185 participants across 78 fields who are actively engaged in public and welfare administrative support, guidance in disabled parking zones, environmental cleanup, fever checks, and welfare-linked tasks at Sekwang School, marking a strong start to the new year.

In particular, among the participants, two hearing-impaired individuals have been operating the "Throbbing Sign Language Classroom," a silent echo, for the third consecutive year by visiting 15 local children's centers within Seo-gu.

This initiative not only provides high-quality, customized jobs for people with hearing and speech disabilities but also greatly helps improve children's awareness of disabilities, attracting significant attention.

A single parent participating in the disability employment project expressed gratitude, saying, "I thank Seo-gu Office for providing the opportunity to take steps toward the world," and added, "Our whole family will work together to contribute to society, even if just a little."

A Seo-gu official stated, "We will continue to make greater efforts to provide jobs to people with disabilities, a vulnerable employment group, expand their social participation, and create a happy Seo-gu where everyone prospers together through income support."
