[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Seon-ae] Starbucks Korea has changed its corporate name to 'SCK Company' (SCK Company).
According to SCK Company on the 31st, the corporate name change is a follow-up measure due to recent changes in shareholder composition. The 'Starbucks' brand, store logo, and operating methods will remain unchanged.
Earlier in July, Emart acquired an additional 17.5% stake in Starbucks Coffee Korea from the U.S. Starbucks headquarters.
As a result, Emart now holds a total of 67.5%, including its existing 50% stake, and Starbucks Coffee Korea has become a consolidated subsidiary of Emart.
The remaining 32.5% stake was acquired by the Singapore sovereign wealth fund, the Government of Singapore Investment Corporation (GIC).
