[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bo-kyung] The Korea Federation of SMEs announced on the 31st that it has appointed Jeong Yun-mo, former Chairman of the Korea Technology Finance Corporation (photo), as the new full-time Vice Chairman. Jeong Yun-mo's term as full-time Vice Chairman will be from January 1 next year to December 31, 2024.
After graduating from Yonsei University with a degree in Economics, Vice Chairman Jeong entered public service through the 31st Administrative Examination. He has served as Director of the SME Policy Bureau, Director of the Small Business Policy Bureau, Director of the Startup and Venture Bureau at the Small and Medium Business Administration, SME Secretary at the Presidential Secretariat, Deputy Administrator of the Small and Medium Business Administration, and Director of Planning and Coordination at the Ministry of SMEs and Startups. Most recently, he served as Chairman of the Korea Technology Finance Corporation.
Kim Ki-moon, Chairman of the Korea Federation of SMEs, evaluated, "Vice Chairman Jeong is a small and medium enterprise expert with over 30 years of experience in SME policy, highly trusted within the government, and passionate about fostering SMEs and small business owners."
He added, "He is the right person to play a key role in addressing the deepening polarization between large and small-medium enterprises and in correcting the uneven playing field by actively communicating with SMEs and small business owners who are struggling due to uniform labor regulations such as the 52-hour workweek, minimum wage, and the Serious Accident Punishment Act," explaining the reason for the appointment.
