[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Sang-hyun] On the 30th, Changwon City in Gyeongnam signed a business agreement with the Korea Ssireum Association to widely promote Masan Ssireum (currently Changwon) and to revitalize ssireum by hosting the Haksan Cup National Jangsa Ssireum Tournament.

The Haksan Cup National Tournament was established in 2004 to commemorate Kim Seong-ryul, a giant of Korean ssireum. From 2004 to 2016, the tournament was held in the Changwon area, then moved to other regions, and this year, Changwon resumed hosting the event.

Changwon is the hometown of ssireum that has produced the most national champions, and is the undisputed center city of ssireum, having produced outstanding ssireum athletes such as Kim Seong-ryul, Lee Man-gi, and Kang Ho-dong.

The main contents of this business agreement ceremony include the continuous hosting of the Haksan Cup National Jangsa Ssireum Tournament in Changwon City, cooperation in providing venues, mutual efforts for the successful hosting of the tournament, and external promotion of ssireum.

Mayor Heo Seong-mu said, "I am very pleased to continue hosting the meaningful Haksan Cup National Jangsa Ssireum Tournament despite difficult circumstances," and added, "We will strive to ensure the tournament is safe and successful."
