[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] Mobile casual game company Me2Zen announced on the 28th that it held a board meeting and signed a contract to acquire 51% of the shares of action RPG · TPS game developer ‘Jofsoft’ (CEO Kim Jeong-ho). Me2Zen plans to incorporate Jofsoft as a subsidiary to strengthen its PC game development capabilities and diversify its game portfolio to enhance competitiveness.
Founded in 2018, Jofsoft is a company specializing in the development and service of action RPG games and strategic TPS games. It is composed of CEO Kim Jeong-ho, a former NeoWiz PD, and experienced experts in engineering, planning, and other fields. In 2020, Jofsoft soft-launched its self-developed mobile game ‘Guardian's Odyssey’ in seven countries including Singapore. Currently, it is developing a character collection action RPG game using a famous Japanese animation IP.
Notably, at the 2021 G-Star, Jofsoft unveiled its newly developed TPS (Third Person Shooter) genre game ‘Rift Sweepers,’ created with Unreal Engine, which was selected as an exhibition title for the Busan Indie Connect Showcase (BIC Showcase), gaining recognition for its development skills and gameplay quality. Jofsoft plans to release the global platform Steam version of ‘Rift Sweepers’ in the first half of next year.
Kim Jeong-ho, CEO of Jofsoft, said, “Based on our game development capabilities and global service know-how, we will actively develop our business in close cooperation with the Me2On Group to maximize synergy.”
Son Chang-wook, Chairman of the Board of Me2Zen, stated, “We will make every effort to expand our game portfolio and strengthen global competitiveness by securing Jofsoft’s proven development capabilities and game IP (intellectual property).” He emphasized, “In the future, Jofsoft’s games will also be linked with Me2On Group’s metaverse blockchain platform ‘MEVerse’ to lead the global P2E game market.”
