Suncheon City, Call Taxi 'Suncheon Miin Call' Starts Anew as an Integrated Brand

[Suncheon=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Suncheon City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Heo Seok) announced on the 27th that it will newly pilot the integrated call taxi brand ‘Suncheon Miin Call’.

The system, which previously operated separately with 641 individual taxis under Miin Call and 394 corporate taxis under Aha Call, will be integrated and operated with 990 vehicles.

Through this, taxi users will be able to use a unified call system, continuing to use the existing Miin Call and Aha Call numbers, enabling faster and more convenient taxi transportation services.

The city began replacing navigation and black boxes in taxis registered with the integrated call system from the 22nd to provide citizens with faster and more convenient transportation services and to ensure the early establishment of the integrated taxi call. Additionally, the integrated call server and control system will be expanded at the existing individual taxi Miin Call center.

By the end of April next year, a dedicated ‘Suncheon Miin Call’ app service will be launched, allowing dispatch between taxi drivers and users via a smartphone app, confirmation of boarding and alighting, as well as providing various additional services such as Suncheon City disaster, traffic, and tourism information.

A representative of the Suncheon City Taxi Integrated Call Promotion Committee stated, “Through this integrated call service, not only will faster service be provided, but all taxi industry workers will continuously strive together to enhance the friendly image of taxis.”

A representative from Suncheon City’s Transportation Department said, “Through the establishment of this integrated taxi call, we aim to promote the development of the taxi transportation business, which has been struggling due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic and decreased users, and we will also strive to provide convenient, fast, and friendly transportation services to users.”
