Selected as an Excellent Institution for the 2021 All-day Care Policy Merit Award
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Intern Reporter Lee Seryeong] Sangju City in Gyeongbuk Province, together with the Sangju Branch of the Office of Education, was selected as an 'Excellent Institution for the 2021 All-day Care Policy' and received a commendation from the Minister of Education.
As a result of evaluating achievements that contributed to the solidification of the 'All-day Care System Establishment Policy' through organic cooperation between the local community and schools, 12 institutions from 6 local governments nationwide, including Sangju City, were awarded.
The city formed a local care council with the Office of Education and Dahamkke Care to establish a care system tailored to regional characteristics and has been working to eliminate blind spots in after-school care for elementary school students.
In response to the steadily increasing number of dual-income families and children needing elementary care, the city was praised for providing meticulous care services by installing shared childcare spaces and Dahamkke Care Centers.
Mayor Kang Young-seok said, “We will expand and operate after-school care projects to eliminate childcare gaps and blind spots and create an environment where work and family can coexist,” adding, “We will systematically establish a care system to ensure a safe environment for raising children.”
