Yamaha Golf Remix VD40 "New Era Double Neck Iron"

[Asia Economy Reporter Nowrae Noh] "A new era of irons has begun."

This is the Yamaha Golf Remix VD40 iron (photo). It boasts that "it hardly ever misses on the field to the point of being boring." VD stands for ‘Vector Direction,’ a product that pursues directional stability and straight-line accuracy. The number 40 refers to the MOI (Moment of Inertia) of 4000 g·cm² regulated by the United States Golf Association (USGA) and The Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews (R&A). This is the highest MOI value for irons, making it an ‘incredibly easy club’ to use.

It features a uniquely designed shape born from meticulous calculations. The key is the additional weight placed on the hosel and toe. This is called the ‘Double Neck.’ The protruding shape of the hosel disappears when addressing the ball. The ribs on the back face produce a pleasant hitting sound. Although it has a sleek and small head, it offers excellent maneuverability. The high bounce and score lines are impressive.

It suppresses the reduction of spin amount that occurs under adverse conditions. Through club performance comparison tests, it was explained that "there is no loss in distance and the frequency of miss shots is significantly reduced." Yamaha Golf describes it as "a club with a very subtle design and pattern" and says, "It has never appeared anywhere on Earth before," adding, "It felt like a design and technology passed down from a new life form that lived somewhere in the galaxy and came over."
